At SciFree AB, we are committed to making our platform accessible to everyone. Our Software as a Service solutions are designed with all users in mind, including researchers and library teams who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice recognition software.
We build and maintain our products in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA - the internationally recognised standard referenced by both the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and US accessibility legislation (ADA Title II). Meeting these standards is not a one-time exercise; we review and improve our conformance on an ongoing basis.
Key Accessible Features
- Use a screen reader to listen and interact with functionality on the pages.
- Zoom up to 400% without loss of content and functionality.
- Navigate using a keyboard for all functionality and skip to main content to bypass repeated content.
Journal Search Tool: Public Search Page
The JST Public Search Page fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Researchers can resize content, navigate by keyboard, and use screen readers without loss of functionality. A full Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT 2.5) is available on request.
Journal Search Tool: Admin Interface
The JST Admin interface conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA for the majority of its functionality. A small number of criteria relating to the embedded tutorial video are not yet fully met. We are working to release an updated video with accurate captions and audio descriptions.
Ongoing Improvements
We are actively working to close remaining gaps across our platform. Planned improvements include an updated tutorial video with full captions and audio descriptions.
Collaboration
SciFree works together with our Library customers to ensure we meet not only global accessibility standards but also their individual policy requirements, as needed.
Third-Party Integrations
We understand that some elements of our platform may rely on third-party integrations. While we cannot control the accessibility of all external content, we make every effort to collaborate with third-party providers that share our commitment to accessibility.
