There are a number of texts that can be customised on your public search page. This guide covers an overview of what these texts are and how you are able to edit them.
Step-by-Step
Where to find the text boxes and what they are for
- To change the texts of your Public Journal Search Page first of all click on Branding either on the Main Dashboard or from the sidebar.
- You will now arrive at the branding page where you will need to click on the Text tab to make changes for (those with multiple languages will find a tab for each language enabled)
- Under Search Interface you will find:
- Edit text over the search bar: This is the text that appears above the search bar to introduce the search page.
- Edit text within the search bar: This is where you can provide a prompt to your researches on searching
- Edit starting instructions text, at the middle of the page: The Starting instruction text is the first text your researchers will see when they visit your Public Journal Search Page

Edit text when nothing is found, at the middle of the page: The When nothing is found text is show when nothing is located on the journal search page after a search has been completed
- Under Content & Information you will find:
- Edit text in the right information box: The Information box is where you can provide additional information to your researchers on your Public Journal Search Page (located in the top right hand corner

Extra details, links, or notices (URLs must start with https://) Here is where you can extra information and links under the information box.

Title for payment option: This is where you change the payment column header for your public search page. The default is set to Who Pays.
- Once you have made your changes click Save at the top of the page
Using the Text Editor boxes
- When making changes to most of your texts you will use a text editor box that has a number of features.
- Heading selector - Here you can highlight text parts and choose the heading, this will change the font size and apply a heading.
- Bold - Here you can highlight text to be in bold.
- Italics - Use to be italicise portions of text.
- Underline - Use to underline text.
- Add links - Use to add/edit/remove links.
- Bullet point list - Include a bullet point list.
- Numbered list - Include a numbered list.
- Remove Formatting - This clears any underlining formatting leaving just the text
- See character count - Here you can see your current character count/ followed by the maximum character length for the text box.
