Downloading UK Title Lists from UK Community of Practice

For Universities in the UK, you can easily download and import up-to-date journal lists into your Journal Search Tool using the title lists provided by our the UK Community of Practice (CoP).

What are the UK CoP Journal Lists

These are lists maintained by 6 CoP leaders, who will monitor and update them. Each list is named according to the publisher shortened name followed by the publishing model e.g. OUP_HybridOA_scifreeimport.

Within each downloaded file, you will find:

• The Import List: The main list of journals ready for import into your JST
• Changes and Notes - Where available, this tab provides information about specific journals within the agreement, such as new additions or removals
• Journal Changes Terms - A glossary explains the terms used to describe the journal changes within the notes

Step-by-Step Guide to Downloading a Journal List

1. Firstly go to the UK Community of Practice (CoP) title lists. Here you will see a list of all Journal lists available to download. 
   
2. Find the list you want to download and click on the file name.
3. To download the list click on the Download raw file button
   
   
4. Once the file has been downloaded, we recommend checking the list before uploading so that:
   1. You can make changes, if required, for your instance for example, if there are certain journals you do not want to show you can remove these.
   2. You can also check the recent changes/notes for the list
5. Once the list is ready, you can now upload the list into your tool as per usual. For more information see our guides on Editing a list within an agreement or Adding a New Publisher Agreement

Viewing the history of the file

When changes our made to a journal list a new file will be uploaded and replace the previous version. Previous versions can be downloaded via the History.

1. Go the file you wish to access the version history for and click on History
2. You will then see each time a version of the file has been uploaded through the Commits. 
    
3. If you want to download a previous version
   1. Click on the Commit
   2. Click on the '...' then View File
      
   3. Here you will be take to that particular file version where you can click the Download raw file button
