In this guide it will cover the different payment options available, how to select them for the full list or for individual journals, as well as creating your own Payment Option.

Payment Options

Changing Payment Default option
Please Note: When changing the payment option it will change for ALL journals within the list.
- First of all go to the Agreements page either from the Main Dashboard or from the Side Menu
- Now click on the Agreement you would like to update the Payment Option for.
- Go to the Payment Option field and select the Payment Option you would now like to use. In this example we are changing 'Included in Publisher Agreement' to 'No APC Charged'
- Once you have selected the Payment Option you now need to click Save Changes
- Now check in the Uploaded Journals to see that the Payment Option has been updated.
Selecting Journal Payment option individually
- Go to the Agreements page either from the Dashboard or the sidebar
- Click on the Agreement you would like to change individual journals
- Go to the Uploaded Journals section on the page
- Locate the journal that you want to edit and click on it.
- This will now bring up a form where you can select a Payment Option from the dropdown
- Click Save
- This will now have updated straight away in your JST. You can also see the change within the Uploaded Journals list
Selecting Journal Payment Option via Journal Import
If you have a number of journals within an agreement that have different Payment Options you can utilise the Journal Import to import the payment option you want to use for each journal. To do this follow the step-by-step guide below.
- First of all you will need to make sure that on your journal Excel spreadsheet you have a column specifically for the Payment Option
- For each journal you will need to type in the Payment Option it should have. The Payment Option MUST be written to exactly match the available Payment Options
- Then go to the Agreements page either from the Main Dashboard or the Side Bar
- Click on the Agreement you would like to upload a journal list containing payment options
- Once you have uploaded the list make sure to click Save Changes
Creating your own Payment Option
- To create your own custom Payment Option icon by using the Other information payment option.
- First of all click on Branding either on the Main Dashboard or from the sidebar.
- You will now arrive at the branding page where you can make your customisations. Click on the Icons tab
- Here you will see the list of Payment options available. This will automatically use the defaults available from SciFree however you can upload your own icons and/or change Icon Description which is shown as hover text on your public search page
- Locate the Other Information by searching or scrolling thourgh the list.
- You can then upload an icon by clicking on Upload next to the Other information icon and select the file. This will then be displayed in the tool.
- To change the Icon description click on the text box next to Other Information and type in the text you would like to be displayed
- Press Save
